Installation

Step 1:

To begin, unpack your new kidney grilles and inspect them. This will give you an understanding of how they are installed. The inner and outer parts of the grille actually “sandwich” the hood in between and lock together using six tabs on the outer grille and six hooks on the inner grille.

Viewing the top or bottom of the new grilles, you will see two tabs on the outer grille and two hooks on the inner grille.

Step 2:

Viewing either side of the new grilles, you will see one tab on the outer grille and one hook on the inner grille.

You will also see six tension clips attached to the inner grille around the perimeter. These clips are what keeps the grilles tight in the hood.

Step 3:

Small Flat Blade Screwdriver

Open the hood on your car and locate the six tabs around the perimeter of each outer grille. Gently pry each of the tabs off the hooks on the inner grille, then separate the two and remove them from the car.

Step 4:

Separate the new grilles, then hold the outer grille in place on the hood and push the inner grille onto the backside until all six tabs are engaged onto the hooks.

Step 5:

Check the location of each of the tension clips. The picture on the right shows the tension clip on the outside of the metal tang on the hood. This is INCORRECT. If you find this, separate the two halves of the grille and reinstall them making sure the stepped face of the tension clips are contacting the end of each hood tang.

Step 6:

This picture shows the correct installation position of the tension clips. The stepped face of each clip should be in contact with the end of each hood tang.

Once you have verified the correct installation position of each tension clip, check the tab/hook engagement around the perimeter of the grille, and your installation is complete.
