When it comes to adding personal touches to our cars, you often have three qualities to expect, and two you can pick per upgrade. As the old saying goes; you can have it fast, you can have it good, and you can have it cheap, but you can’t have all three. You have to pick two. If you want it fast and cheap, it won’t be good. If you want it good and fast, it won’t be cheap. If you want it good and cheap, it won’t be fast. Sometimes, though, on rare occasions, you can get all three. In this case, you can have it good, you can have it cheap, and you can have it installed in just a few minutes without more than basic hand tools. We’re of course talking about our brand new Direct Fit Exhaust Tips for your MK6 or MK7 GTI.

Now, it should be noted that these are not a performance upgrade unless you consider visual upgrades to add a measure of performance in that they perform their job of improving the looks of your car. These tips won’t make your car louder, they won’t add horsepower, but they will add a measure of style that could be just what your GTI needs.

So why would you want to install these new gorgeous exhaust tips? If you want a cleaner, sportier, and more satisfying look with just a simple, subtle, and easy change, these are perfect. Especially if you don’t want to change your exhaust. If you just want better looks but don’t want to make a big change, these are for you.
What exactly does it take to install these beautiful direct-fit tips? Not much, as it turns out. All you need is a socket set and about five minutes.
Without even jacking up the car, you can easily access the factory muffler tips. Notice their dull, ugly, unfinished look when compared to the sleek and stylized exterior of your MK6 or MK7 GTI. We’re going to fix that quickly.
Take your provided clamps and slide them onto the muffler tips. Be sure to do this when the car is cold so you don’t burn your widdle fingers.

With the clamps dangling on the exhaust, take the provided polished or matte black tips and slide them onto the exhaust tips. It may be a bit of a tight fit, but it should slip on easily. Adjust their orientation so the ECS logo is at 12:00 top dead center.
Take your clamps and slip them over the flange on the back of the muffler tip, just like a hose clamp, and position it so the eyelets for the hardware are directly on top and out of sight.
Put your hardware through the eyelets and finger tighten. Then, grab your socket and wrench to tighten the clamps down.

You should now have a simple and attractive upgrade that improves the look of your exhaust with beautiful stainless or matte black tips that provide a sportier, more aggressive, appearance to your MK6 or MK7 GTI! Of course, if you need something with function AND form, you can always take a look at our other exhaust options that offer incredible looks, sound, and performance for your GTI.
