This summer has already proven itself as the make-up season for last year and then some. What began somewhat slowly has exploded into an event-packed few weeks with plenty of more shows to come. Already we’ve had the pleasure of attending many stellar events, which we’ll catch you up on in this week’s article, but we’re also looking forward to the next events. Heck, as you’re reading this, we’re right by the water for Dubs at the Lake in Maryland! (If you’re here reading this, come see our booth for some stickers and giveaways!) With that, let’s look back at what has happened so far this summer and what you can expect in the following weeks.

Riverside – Chattanooga, TN

While we didn’t attend as a company, quite a few of us attended the 6th annual Riverside event in Chattanooga. This is a staple in my yearly show lineup and has become a cult favorite here at ECS. We’ve written extensively over the years about Riverside, the most recent coverage can be read right here on our blog.

Pittsburgh Car Scene Season Opener – Pittsburgh, PA

Once again, no booth, but several ECS employees caravanned out to Pittsburgh to attend the massive PCS Season Opener. While Riverside’s massive attendance could have been dubbed a fluke, seeing the overflowing lot maintain its fullness for over eight hours at PCS proves that every event this year will be packed to the brim.

NASA Mid-Ohio – Mansfield, OH

Not technically a show, but still an event – the NASA Great Lakes sponsored track event was the Racewagen’s debut with Ellen Stingel and Chris Armbruster behind the wheel. This series can be found on YouTube very shortly as Ellen learns car control through the HPDE driving school courses and Chris tries to coax some competitive times out of the MK7 GTI Racewagen.

Oklavy – Hudson, OH

The first official ECS-attended event of the season, Oklavy’s season opener was held last week at their facility in Hudson, Ohio. Everything from top-tier hypercars to Group B rally cars, JDM legends, and European performance attended for what was an exceptional event. The live band, a large presence of a wide variety, and perfect weather made this show a breath of fresh air. It signifies a true return to normality that hasn’t felt quite permanent until this past weekend. We can’t thank John and Paul from Oklavy enough for putting this together and inviting us.

IMSA Mid-Ohio – Mansfield, OH

We joined Unitronic on the track supporting the JDC-Miller MotorSports Audi RS3 TCR while also watching the Turner Motorsport M4 GT4s compete at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. Following those Saturday races, the ECS family donned blue to cheer for the Turner Motorsport M6 GTD on Sunday during the WeatherTech Challenge series. Thanks to the incredible skills of Robby Foley and Bill Auberlen, the Turner M6 took the checkered flag for a solid victory here in our backyard.

Cars and Coffee ECS – Wadsworth, OH

Ah, finally. After last year’s disappointing lack of events here due to a certain global situation, we’re pleased to announce for the first time that this year will include a Cars and Coffee right here at our facility. Enjoy an open house along with guided tours of our facility as well as some of the best cars you’ll find anywhere. This is your chance to meet nearly the entire ECS family and catch up with all the local legends. Every year, this laid-back event brings out a massive attendance and gives us a chance to check out what our local community has been up to in the past few months. We can’t wait to welcome you all here to our facility, so stay tuned for the official date announcement and mark your calendars!

Dubs at the Gap – Sept 18th-19th – Flintstone, MD

A followup to Dubs at the Lake, we’ll be back for round two in Flintstone, MD for more VW action. This show is a celebration of VW, Audi, and Porsche, so bring don’t miss out on some of the East Coast’s hottest VAG builds! Come out and see us at our booth and enjoy yet another solid weekend of cars, cruises, and beers.  Here’s the website so you can enter and check out the past shows:

The Euro District – Jeffersonville, IN – October 9th – 10th

Closing our main event season is The Euro District. Last year, the event was postponed from its normal date in mid-April and rescheduled for October. The weather and fall vibe was such a welcomed addition to an already fantastic show that the dates were permanently moved. Once again, this fall you’ll find us in the heart of the VW/Audi action there with some of our personal cars and ECS shop cars ready to see what the community brings. Last year was a wonderful turnout, we expect this year to be even bigger. Here’s the write up from The Euro District 2020 along with the website so you can sign up to join us there:

Wrapping Up

With all these events coming up, there are several chances for you to engage with us in person, take home some free goodies, and show us your car. Naturally, these aren’t the only places you can run into the team from ECS, as we attend even more on our own. You can generally spot us or follow along with our social media to see where we are. If you haven’t already, make sure you go to both our Facebook and Instagram pages, follow the crew, and hopefully, we’ll see you all at some of the shows, events, track days, cruises, and more that are planned for summer 2021.
